The jampacked weekend ended with a delightful, mellow, lazy apres ski evening at home with good friends and a bunch of kids running around. I was fixated on a cheese plate since that lavish wine and cheese spread last weekend—I've been cheeseless for a while so it hit me hard. I'm hooked.
Flowers Pinot Noir—latest fave, intensely magical with the berries 'n cheese.
Uniekaas Robusto—crisp, addicting, smooth, an aged gruyere, salty, AMAZING with wine.
Truffle Tremor by Cypress Grove Chevre—aged goat milk cheese, potent, unbelieveable.
Dalmatia Fig Spread—blissful sugary jammy bites with the cracker, cheese, berries...bliss.Raincoast Crisp in Cranberry and Hazelnut by Lesley Stowe—these beautiful squarish crouton crackers are addicting, a beyond perfect flavor-texture combo in one bite (crunch, chewy, tangy, sweet), add some of the above cheese to it and you'll die.
Costco Flowers—going strong for 2 weeks now! (Cut/arranged by the kids :)Citrus Green Salad—greens, blood orange, navel orange, grapefruit, mango, scallion.
Dijon Vinaigrette—dijon mustard, honey, white vinegar, salt, pepper, extra light olive oil.
Wild Mushroom & Peas—fresh peas, lime, asparagus, garlic, julienne ginger, roasted and black sesame, shitake/oyster/beech mushrooms, salt, pepper, balsamic, olive oil.
Pan Seared Rice Noodle—fresh rice noodles, dried cranberries, bokchoy, garlic, sweet onion, red pepper flakes, pepper, soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, fresh coconut juice, olive oil.
Sauteed Rainbow Chard and Bokchoy—balsamic, maple syrup, red pepper flakes, garlic, pearl onion, olive oil.
Tapioca in Coconut Milk—served warm, add banana and strawberry at serving, sweet finish ;)
Table Runner from Vietnam—shiny purple, black border and white luminous beads..so goth, modern and classic, all at the same time. I absolutely love this, Ruth—thank you!
